Super Bowl 58!

Chiefs 49ers Part 2. The Chiefs won the first round 31-20 a few years ago but they face a slightly different 49ers team that added CMC, Purdy, and Chase Young. Will these 3 players make a difference for San Fran or will the Chiefs prevail once again? The storylines from both sides will be fun to follow:

If KC wins:

The journey for Mahomes to being the goat becomes more and more of a s possibility as he would have, by far, the greatest start to a 6-year career of any NFL player in the history of this game. The Chiefs would join the very prestigious list of dynasties and would be the first team since the 03-04 Pats to win back-to-back Super Bowls. Would Andy Reid be chasing GOAT status for coach? Meanwhile, for the 49ers, it would be deja vu losing to KC in the Superbowl and questions about Kyle Shanahan and Brock Purdy will arise. As for the rest of the league, this would be a horrifying outcome. In a year where the Chiefs look very vulnerable, they go on and win the Superbowl??? If you are the other 31 teams you can't help but feel hopeless for the next couple of years.

If SF wins:

Purdy's arc from being Mr. Irrelevent to a Superbowl Champ and possibly MVP would be cool to see. Kyle Shanahan can finally escape the ghosts of his past blowing leads in the Super Bowl. Would other teams start looking at what the 49ers are doing and construct a roster so good that any competent QB can just come in and help them win the big game? As for the Chiefs, the chase to catch Brady will become tougher for Mahomes and they will have to invest in some wide receivers. They may have to do that even if they win but especially if they lose and lose in the fashion they have in almost every loss they had this season where the receiver has cost them the game with drops.

It's a battle of 2 completely different teams. One team has a great QB with a decent supporting cast except Kelce, while the other team is star-studded but has a solid QB. The X-factor in this game will be how good the Chiefs' defensive backs can deal with the skill players of SF. If the SF receivers are given space, it could be a long day for KC. However, if they aren't and Purdy is forced to make big-time throws, the Chiefs' path to back-to-back is very probable.

My Prediction: 49ers Win 27-24

SBMVP: CMC

I think the 49ers get it done the second time around behind a strong performance of their star Running Back CMC and I believe the Chiefs receivers will struggle in the biggest moment.
