About 24 hours later we still grieve the sudden passing of former Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas as he was found dead at the age of 33 in his home in Georgia. Thomas announced his retirement a few months ago in the summer and I can speak on behalf of broncos country when I say I was excited about his new chapter after retirement. Unfortunately, few months later, he passed away as many speculate is could have been a seizure. Thomas has dealt with seizures ever since his car accident back in 2019. This one really hurt. He was a big part of my childhood as a broncos fan from the 80 yard game winner in overtime vs the Steelers in the wildcard round to being crowned a Super bowl 50 champion. He is undoubtedly a Broncos Legend. After his death, many people close to him highlighted how amazing of a person he was. They described his smile as infectious and how it brightened everyone's day. Not only did we lose a Broncos legend, we lost an incredible human being. I want to also celebrate DT and share my 5 fondest memories about him as a Bronco:
Overtime Winner vs Pittsburgh in Wild Card
2. One-Handed Catch vs Chiefs in 2012
3. DT is a champ!
4. Record Breaking Day vs Cardinals in 2014
5. DT reacting to Peyton Manning congratulating him on retirement
This Sunday, the Broncos will honor Thomas with a tribute video and a moment of silence before the game. The players will also wear decals on their helmets of No.88. Thank you DT for all the memories. Rest Easy.
