THE BRONCOS ARE FINALLY GOING TO THE POSTSEASON FOR THE FIRST TIME IN NINE YEARS. It's been a painful 9 years of watching Broncos football but this team finally did it. They did it in the most perfect way possible by beating the Chiefs 38-0 in the season finale in front of their home crowd in their retro 1977 jerseys(albeit it was against the Chiefs' second team). I could sit here and talk about the the X’s and O’s and what we need to do against Buffalo but that can wait for another day. Today we celebrate this incredible young team that has exceeded expectations.

Before the season started the team was projected to win 5 games and pro football focus said this was ranked the worst and many analysts thought that Bo Nix was a reach in the draft. Well, the “worst team” is in the playoffs. That itself is very satisfying. Now let's go big picture and talk about the struggles this franchise has endured since their Super Bowl victory in 2016:

Starting QBs since Manning

  • Trevor Siemian

  • Paxton Lynch

  • Brock Osweiler

  • Case Keenum

  • Joe Flacco

  • Brandon Allen

  • Drew Lock

  • Jeff Driskel

  • Brett Rypien

  • Teddy Bridgewater

  • Russell Wilson

None of these quarterbacks could get the team over the hump. The best record in this stretch was 9-7 and the worst it got was 5-12. But we finally got a gem of a QB by the name of Bo Chapman Nix. He finished the season with 34 total Touchdowns, and over 4000 total yards, and ended this last game with the best single-game completion percentage In franchise history vs the Chiefs today as he was 26/29 for 321 yards with 4 touchdowns and no interceptions. He surpassed Peyton Manning’s record. For him to do that in a must-win game shows that he is Franchise QB material.

Someone who also deserves massive credit js Sean Payton. He has come in here and has reset the culture in Denver. Just 2 years removed from a disastwe season with Hackett and Russ where the team went 5-12, they are now a 10-7 playoff team. He was able to do what guys like Vance Joseph(as head coach), Vic Fangio, and Nathaniel Hackett couldn’t. He also had many skeptics but just like the team, he’s proven every single critic wrong!

It's been a long 9 years. But, it feels like the team is going to be trending in the right direction moving forward!

Up Next: Buffalo
