No Progress.

For me, it was unimportant whether the Broncos won or not. A win would have been nice but I wanted to see progress from this team especially offensively. I saw none. The defense on the other hand looked stout once again logging 3 sacks and forcing 2 interceptions. After a few down games, they looked back in form. The offense, on the other hand still looks just as bad as it has all year. They scored 9 points and did not even make a red zone trip. When the offense continues to look equally as bad after a play-caller change, we have to start looking at the players. Russell Wilson is starting to scare me in that he may never be the same player he was in Seattle. Usually, amid a down year, great QBs turn back the clock and put on some vintage performances. Not one time this entire year has he had a game where it made me feel like the old Russ is in there somewhere. If he is just going to be an efficient game manager, then there was no reason to get rid of Bridgewater and Lock. He was paid 250 million to be a game-changer. A player that put the team on his back during tough moments and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Instead, the Broncos manage to snatch defeat from the Jaws of Victory. Yes, the defense gave up that TD in the final drive but asking them to be perfect every game is unrealistic. They held a team to 10 points. 10! You have to be able to win that game. The only player that came to play on offense was Greg Dulcich. I want to speak on the wide receivers now. They are starting to look overrated. Sutton has had issues with drops and had no catches yesterday. Jeudy and Hamler's inability to stay on the field is very concerning. Their only reliable receiver was injured before the season in Tim Patrick. Aside from Patrick, these guys have been very inconsistent in their young careers. From time to time they make big plays and nice catches but seem to never come up clutch in crucial situations. It also feels like yards after catch(YAC) is non-existent. I feel like wherever the ball is caught, that is where the receiver goes down. Now onto special teams. No one wants to point it out but it has been bad. Montrell Washington's decision-making as a returner has been awful. One example is right before the Broncos' final drive. They could have started on the 25-yard line with 28 seconds left Washington let the ball bounce into the endzone but instead chose to return it and got up to the 18-yard line leaving 23 seconds left. Knowing Denver lost on a last-second kick that came up short of the uprights displayed how costly that decision was from Washington. Overall, this is a bad football team right now.
