Movin' Up!!

The Denver Broncos have made significant moves in the 2025 free-agency window!

They began with bolstering that already ferocious defense with a couple of 49ers that are ready to make some major noise in 2025 after a disappointing 2024.

The first pick-up was Safety Talanoa Hufanga:

When healthy, he is a force. In 2022 and 2023 combined, he had 7 combined interceptions and was ranked 78th in the NFL top 100 of 2023. In 2024, he along with the rest of the 49ers, missed significant time and was not able to produce at the level he did in the year prior. Now that you pair him with Brandon Jones, who was ranked 3rd among safeties according to pro football focus i coverage, Denver has themselves a tandem at the back end of that defense.

The second 49ers pickup is Dre Greenlaw:

He too was in the top 100 as he was 79th in 2022-2023 and 76th in 2023-2024. However, he did not play last year because he tore his Achilles in Super Bowl 58. He will give that defense some edge and will provide more ammunition to an already good run defense. Broncos fans hope that he can solve the issue of covering opposing tight ends because that was one of the very few things this defense was unable to do. He is coming from an Achilles injury so we must remain patient with his immediate impact and keep expectations reasonable but the Broncos country should be excited he is here!

These are the 2 big defensive signings but the one that gets. The most amped up is the signing of Evan Engram because the Broncos have lacked proper production from that position since Julius Thomas in 2014. Engram, in his last healthy season, had 963 yards on 114 catches and 4 TDs. Bo Nix now has another weapon to work with. With his speed and size, he can be a nightmare for opposing linebackers if utilized properly. The offense now just needs to address their running back situation and all of a sudden this is a team that is no longer just a nice story.

They are championship contenders.
