Home Stretch!

The Broncos sit at 8-5 and sit comfortably at the 7th spot in the AFC. The Chargers and Ravens are sitting at 5th and 6th, respectively, with records of 8-5. This is the time for the Broncos to get greedy and go after that 5th seed, who will most likely face a struggling Houston team in round 1. As of now, the Broncos would face the Buffalo Bills in round 1 as it looks more likely that they will be the second seed after their loss to the Rams last week and the Chiefs' continual pursuit of victory through Satan's game plan. As much as I love and believe in these Broncos, they are not quite ready to face the Bills. However, I think they can compete with the Steelers, who are 3rd, so it is paramount Denver jumps one of the wild card teams.

I would love Denver to be greedy, but I also would be more than ok if they just get in the postseason. It's been eight long years. In pursuit of climbing the playoff ladder, Denver shouldn't put themselves in danger of losing that final Wildcard spot. Right now, the 8th seed in the AFC is the Indianapolis Colts, who sit at 6-7. Denver and Indy face of tomorrow. With a Broncos victory, the Broncos eliminate any chance the Colts have to catch them. They won't clinch this weekend, but it'll be as close to a sure-fire thing.

There are multiple ways the Broncos can get in, but their most straightforward path is winning 3 out of 4 and getting to 11 wins, as all the teams below them can get only a max of 10 wins. Even going 2-2 will most likely get them in. What can't happen is they have a late-season collapse and finish this last stretch of games 1-3 or 0-4. That just cannot happen. Unfortunately, that has been the case in previous years, where this team has been in a decent playoff position heading into the final four games and then completely botched the opportunity. 8-5 is the best they've been since 2016 through 13 games. They need to finish the right way.

The Broncos finish their season hosting Indy, going to LA to face the Chargers going to Cincy, and hosting the Chiefs. This is not an easy stretch, which is why they must win tomorrow and be able to give themselves more room for error in the final three games vs three tough opponents. Let's see what happens. We'll find out real soon if this team is playoff-ready or not.
