Expectations

Football season is officially back. Bronco football will be back on Friday as the Broncos will go to Arizona to face the Cardinals in their preseason opener. It was reported that the starters will be playing to start the game, which shows a different approach from last year. As we get closer to the season, I want to provide my expectations about things I want to see from the team this year.

  1. Stay Healthy

After what we have seen this camp with Patrick and Griffith, it seems like a prayer, but I want to see a year where the Broncos are not top 5 in injuries as they have been since 2019.

2. Russ Redemption

All I want Russ to do this year is play his game week in and week out and do whatever it takes to win. With Sean Payton calling the shots, I have no doubt he will have a bounce-back year. He received a lot of unnecessary hate last year and I hope he can make those same people eat their words.

3. Beat the Chiefs Once

The last time we beat them I was 12 years old. I'm 20 now. Just please beat them I don't want it to be a whole decade before we have beaten a team that we get to play twice a year.

4. Jeudy is an All Pro

Jeudy played very well down the stretch last year after the offense was forced to feature him more due to injuries to Hamler and Sutton in the season. The Chiefs game where he scored 3 touchdowns was a glimpse of how good he can be when he's engaged. He was also spectacular in the season finale and ended the season less than 70 yards shy of 1,000 yards despite everything that happened last year.

5. Make the Playoffs

The Broncos have the second-longest current playoff drought right after the Jets. They need to make the playoffs to justify not only the Russ trade but also the hire of Sean Payton. If they fail to make the postseason, major changes could be coming and Denver could be looking at a rebuilding year in 2024.

Bonus:

Continue the Colorado Legacy of Champs:

- I of course do not expect them to win a Super Bowl this year but it would be nice to keep the streak going of keeping Colorado a state of champions after the Avs won last year and the Nuggets won this year.
