This Divisional Round is full of storylines. The rookie sensation CJ Stroud takes on MVP candidate Lamar Jackson and the top-seeded Ravens. The youngest team in the Packers take on the mighty 49ers who are led by the last pick in the draft. Goff and Mayfield battle it out to see who can continue their redemption story. And finally, Allen Mahomes part 3 in the playoffs. We all know what took place last time. This divisional round is full of storylines.
Texans - Ravens:
The Ravens are in a spot where they must win this game. Lamar Jackson is 1-3 in the playoffs and has not played well in each of those games. The last time the Ravens were the 1 seed Lamar was also MVP but they got bounced by the Titans in the divisional round. This year Lamar is most likely to win MVP and the Ravens are the top seed again. If they repeat their 2019 counterparts, people will start looking at Lamar differently and view him as a great regular-season player who can't perform in the postseason especially if he doesn't play well. As for the Texans, they are playing with house money as CJ Stroud has exceeded all expectations. The Ravens could be in for a tough fight but I expect them to win.
Packers - 49ers:
Similar to the Texans, the Packers are also playing with house money as Jordan Love has played out of his mind in his last 9 games throwing for 21 TDs and just 1 INT in that span. They have no pressure to win this game whereas the 49ers have all the pressure to win. The 49ers have historically owned the Packers in the postseason and I expect them to continue that trend this weekend.
Bucs - Lions:
The loser of this game should not feel discouraged at all with the season they had. For the Bucs, no one expected them to make any noise, especially with Baker at QB as everyone wrote him off after he had moved around a lot the last 2 years but he has done a great job righting the ship after the team started 4-7 and then won 5 of their last 6 games and destroying the faltering Eagles. As for the Lions, they were in the basement of the League for so long and Dan Campbell and Jared Goff deserve so much credit for the turnaround and led the Lions to their first playoff win in 32 years. Neither team has too much pressure to win in my mind but I think the Lions will pull this out as I feel they are the better team from top to bottom,
Chiefs - Bills:
The Bills have to win this game. They finally get the Chiefs at home in the postseason, Mahomes finally plays on the road, and the Chiefs look the most vulnerable they have been since Mahomes took over as the starter. If they cannot beat KC this year then I don't know when they will be able to. I believe Sean McDermott will be coaching for his job in this game. As for the Chiefs, they are not under as much pressure as people understand they are not as good in previous years and no one on the team is in danger of losing their job. Maybe the only thing at stake is Mahomes's quest to catch Brady as the GOAT. I believe the Bills will finally slay the Dragon and advance to the championship round.
These are my predictions but who knows what could happen as it has been a crazy year and with 3 teams left that haven't reached a Super Bowl, I hope we see a new Franchise hoist that Lombardi at the end of the year
