It's a great time to be a Colorado Sports fan. Russel Wilson is a Bronco, Nikola Jokic wins back to back MVP and the Avalanche win the Stanley Cup for the first time in two decades. I personally do not know much about Hockey as I honestly watched my first full Ice Hockey game just a few days ago. One thing I can say for sure is that this Colorado Avalanche team is a damn good team. They play with such force especially on the offensive end and a good example of that was their incredible play in the 3rd period in game 6 where they had double digit shots on goal while the Tampa Bay Lighting only had around 2or 3 shots on target. That is insane to think about! In a game you must win to keep your season alive TB was only able to muster 3 shots on goal. That's a credit to the dominance of the Avalanche. The Avalanche also notched their 10th come from behind victory this postseason which tied the 2009 Penguins for the most in NHL postseason history. Colorado finished the postseason with a +31 goal differential in the postseason which was 25 clear of any other team. 25?!!! It is incredible how dominant the Avalanche were this entire postseason and in the process also prevented a dynasty in Tampa Bay as they rejected the lightning their 3rd straight Stanley Cup. This was no cinderella run, this was total domination.
