The Broncos finally one game. They did in spectacular fashion coming back down down 28-7 late in the 3rd quarter. After getting 70-pieced last week, down 28-7 against the Bears, had Broncos fans in a dark place. However, Russell Wilson played his best game as a Bronco and led this team to victory tossing for 3TDs on an efficient 21/28 passing for 223 yards with a 133.5 passer rating. He was sensational. Jaleel McLaughlin was also very good at being a threat in the passing and running game. He took a screen pass in for a touchdown on their first possession and then averaged more than 10 yards a carry. The defense still has a LOT to be desired and I know fans are still upset about it. I will say this though. The defense made some clutch plays down the stretch of this game. From the strip sack scoop and score to the 4th down stop near the red zone, to the game-sealing interception, they made some plays down the stretch. And maybe that is all they needed. It felt like the defensive issues were more mental than physical. In Miami, and early in this game vs. Chicago, there were a lot of blown assignments and miscommunications. Maybe a quarter like they had vs. the Bears is just what they need to right the ship and start playing some respectable football. We have to see how this team responds in the next couple of weeks as the Jets come to town and then they play KC on primetime. This team could have easily packed it in down 28-7 but they didn't and I feel like that matters even if it is against another winless team. This team needs to learn how to win. They have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory and it is about time they snatched victory from the Jaws of defeat.
