A lot of Optimism

The Broncos lost a pivotal game vs the Texans. Their playoff chances have now dropped to around 20% but 20% isn't 0. There is still a chance for this team to make the postseason but they will have to win at least 4 out of their next 5 games. With games vs the Chargers(2x), Pats, Lions, and Raiders, that is certainly feasible for this team. Sunday's game was not the result we all wanted as Broncos fans but I have a lot of optimism leaving that game. In a game where the Broncos couldn't get the run game going and lost the turnover differential by 3 still had a chance to win this game down the stretch and unfortunately they just weren't able to pull through. This loss was not much different from our wins. The game was in question for most of the game, the Offense turned it on in the final 20 min of the game and had a chance for a game-winning drive. Against Buffalo and Minnesota, pulled through, in this game, but they weren't able to. It happens. If there was something that I am concerned about it is the lack of consistency in the offense. On some drives, they look unstoppable and on other drives, they can't get 10 yards to save their life. It's weird to watch because in the past Broncos fans would always say the offense was bad but now it's not necessarily bad. It's just inconsistent. The Defense did give up some big plays in the passing game as Stroud and Nico Collins had a couple of 50+ yards of plays but they buckled down in the second half and sacked Stroud 4 times. it was good to see this defense make plays late in the game after a rough start. Something that could' t have been said about this unit earlier in the season. The run defense was a lot better this week holding the Texans to 89 yards total which was encouraging to see. When it comes to Russell Wilson, people need to ease up a little. He hadn't thrown an interception in a game since week 6. he was due for a game like this and his 3 interceptions weren't egregious. His first one was tipped at the line, his second was underthrown but was still a great play by Stingley, Texans CB, and the last one was just him trying to make a play at the end of the game. Could you argue that he could have dirted that ball and lived to see another play on 4th down? Sure! That's a fair critique. But to say that he sucks and is washed is just lazy analysis.

Onto the Chargers!!
