A Good Season

The 2024 NFL season for the Denver Broncos came bitterly as they got trounced in the NFL Wildcard round versus the Bills 31-7. Denver struck first as the deep ball connection from Nix to Franklin worked on the opening possession, where Denver took a 7-0 lead. However, after that, the Broncos' Offense came to a halt, and Buffalo laid 31 straight on them. This game showed the difference between a juggernaut ready to win now and a team that overachieved. Despite the somber ending, the 2024 season was the only one to remember. The team is finally in a good spot after nine long years; they have their coach, QB, and stable ownership. The team needs to address some gaping holes this offseason to transition from a pretty good team to a real contender in the AFC. It begins with pursuing a good running back on free agency and drafting a tightend. I will get more into that as the offseason approaches.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. With the team being projected to win just 5 games and being ranked the worst roster, a 10 win season and a playoff birth is all you can ask for. Next season, the goal should be the division. It’s important for the Broncos to get a home playoff game. I understand that it is a daunting task to win the division when the Chiefs are next door but if they need to be contenders again, it cannot be through the path of winning 3 straight road games on the way to the Super Bowl.

Can they make the necessary moves to take an even bigger leap next year? Will Bo Nix avoid the dreaded “Sophomore Slump”. These will be the questions for next year. My biggest question is how will the team deal with expectations in 2025?
