A Glimmer of Hope!

After going down 27-0, I was sitting there wondering what I was going to even write about as the struggles have gotten repetitive. The offense looked bad, the defense looked like they lacked fire and the Chiefs were doing whatever they wanted. But then Josey Jewel got his first career interception which turned the whole game around. The Broncos' offense would capitalize, something they have failed to do consistently this season, and score a TD cutting it to 27-7. Then Patrick Surtain got an interception which just over one minute and the Broncos used that short field to cut the lead to 27-14 to halftime and the game had a whole new feel to it. The Bronco got the ball to start the half and scored off a screen pass dump-off to Marlon Mack who took it to the house 66 yards for the TD and all of a sudden it was a 27-21 ball game! It was unbelievable to see. The Broncos scored over 20, they scored a TD in the 3rd quarter and they scored that TD on a screen pass. The offense completely flipped the script in that stretch of the game. Then the defense came to play forcing 3 straight 3 and outs. Unfortunately, the offense failed to capitalize as sacks and penalties ended both their 3rd quarter drive after the scoring drive. The Chiefs the very next possession would score off of an unbelievable play by Mahomes doing what he does so well extending the play and finding Juju in the endzone. That made the score 34-21. As things started to look bleak Denver engineered another scoring drive. During the drive, they were faced with a 2nd and 34 and Russ threw a laser down the middle to Dulcich for 23 yards. On the very next play, on 3rd and 11, he scrambled for the first down but unfortunately, he got concussed on the play. Brett Rypien came in and threw a nice TD to help close the gap at 34-28. Then a few drives later on the Chiefs' possession, Josey Jewell got his second career pick and I kid you not that was the loudest crowd reaction in empower field I heard all year. It feels like this team has finally woken up and the crowd appreciates it. Ultimately we lost the game but boy did it feel good to see the team take the Chiefs down to the wire.

Things to look forward to:

- Jerry Jeudy finished the day with 8 Receptions, 73 yards and 3 TDs. He was unguardable and the offense should make every every effort to get him the ball early and often. Maybe he could be WR1 going forward.

- Russell Wilson played his best game of the season throwing for 3 TDs and 260 yards. He was under duress the entire game behind poor offensive line play but played a gutsy game and I think Bronco fans are starting to come around his corner.

- Defense is still elite.
